at Drumlin Farm Nature Center, Lincoln, MA (Directions)

"Wake up, sleepyhead. It's Bird Count Day!"

On November 16, families are invited to join children's author and nature educator Susan Edwards Richmond on a picture book birding adventure!

In Bird Count, a child becomes a citizen scientist for a day in her town's annual Christmas Bird Count. The book is sumptuously illustrated by Stephanie Fizer Coleman.

As part of the reading, Susan will share tips on observing and identifying birds. Plus, you'll take home a craft that will help with bird counts of your own!

Copies of the book be available for purchase at the event. (Reading Level: Ages 3-8)

"Parents be warned: this book is so appealing that, come next December, you may find yourself out in the cold, counting birds."
