With a remarkable ability to slow their metabolism to a near standstill, Woodchucks survive the coldest winter months by avoiding them altogether. This adaptable local member of the Marmot family is frequently spotted in urban, suburban and rural communities. Groundhogs are aptly named as they are impressive excavators of multi-roomed burrows which also provide habitat for other species. We'll explore successful strategies to coexist with this garden-dwelling neighbor, while gaining a deeper understanding of their lifecycle.
