Cape Ann is one of the best locations you'll find along the New England coast to observe winter seabirds. Traveling through Gloucester and Rockport, we'll see many species of sea ducks, loons, grebes, and gulls as they feed and seek shelter in the cape's many coves, inlets, and protected harbors. Target species include Iceland Gull, Red-necked Grebe, Red-throated Loon, Razorbill, Harlequin Duck, Northern Gannet, and Purple Sandpiper.

Instructions and Directions:

Meet at the Fisherman's Statue on Western Avenue in Gloucester. Bring binoculars and a field guide to birds. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain.

We will travel by carpool. Masks are required indoors and in vans; they are optional outdoors. Anyone wishing to travel in a Mass Audubon vehicle must present their vaccination record (actual or photo) for visual confirmation.

Please note our NEW CANCELLATION POLICY: If cancellations are made less than 7 days prior to the program, refunds cannot be issued.
