Description
Fall is one of the most dynamic times to be out birding as birds migrate through on their way south and change their plumage amongst the colorful leaves. Through three monthly sessions, you'll focus on a species or topic indicative of the season—Starting with learning the essentials of visual ID, tricks for recognizing songbirds in their fall plumage, and how to recognize birds by ear when they are high up in the treetops.
You'll build your field identification skills, expand your knowledge of bird behavior and conservation needs, and connect with a community of fellow birders.
Each session will begin inside with a short introduction before heading out to explore the trails with our naturalists as your guide. You'll observe these birds and their habitats in the wild, use field guides, look at specimens up close, and more.
