Decades of beaver activity at Wachusett Meadow has produced a variety of wetland habitats supporting abundant wildlife. We will hike to several active beaver territories, focusing on the adaptations that contribute to beaver engineering and survival skills. Beavers do not hibernate, and their winter strategies are fascinating to explore. Along the way we'll look for evidence of mink, river otters and other activity around the pond.

PLEASE NOTE: This program will be conducted in accordance with current municipal, state, and Mass Audubon Covid-19 protocols. This program will meet and take place outdoors. Indoor restrooms are available, and masks are required when indoors. A detailed confirmation letter will be emailed within 24 hours before the program.
