Trees are easy to recognize by bark and buds, two characteristics most easily seen in winter. Join us for a winter hike to look at and identify deciduous trees without their leaves to guide you. Even trees with bare branches are easy to identify once you know what to look for. We will focus on tree shape, twigs, leaf scars and buds, while learning to use tools such as field guides and dichotomous keys. This experience will help you become an expert at identifying trees in winter.

Please note: This program will be conducted in accordance with current municipal, state, and Mass Audubon Covid-19 protocols. This program will meet and take place outdoors. Indoor restrooms are available, and masks are required when indoors. A detailed confirmation will be emailed 24 hours before the program.
