Children are constantly exposed to news about climate change: fires, hurricanes, snowless winters, and hot summers. How can parents have honest but positive conversations about climate with children?
This Climate Cafè will engage parents in an open and honest conversation about the climate crisis and how to have productive and hopeful conversations with children. Be prepared to listen, share ideas, and come up with solutions in both large and small groups. Mass Audubon educators and Mothers Out Front Activists will start the conversation, but the work and solutions will emerge from group conversations. This Climate Cafè is a safe and welcoming space that will equip parents with tools to nurture the next generation of climate stewards.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to bring their children to join Mass Audubon staff on an exploration of nature at Magazine Beach Park while parents participate in the Climate Cafè. Snacks and beverages will be served.
Rain date: Saturday, May 6th - 3:00-4:30pm
