Massachusetts Northshore is an especially exciting place to find a wide diversity of birds throughout the year. We'll explore a variety of habitats each time, focusing on the everchanging birds of the season as they migrate through our area. Experienced guides will interpret basic bird identification and behavior. This program welcomes birdwatchers of all skill levels.
Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center. From there we will travel by Mass Audubon vans and carpool.
Mass Audubon and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge encourage carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles inside the refuge. Our program passes cover our vans and carpooling, but not individual one-person vehicles within the caravan. Participants who choose not to carpool by driving without at least one passenger will be asked to cover the $5 fee at our front desk during registration. Thank you for helping to reduce the impact of vehicular traffic at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.
Bring binoculars, a field guide to birds, and a scope if you have one. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain. Participants should expect to walk trails with moderate terrain changes at a slow pace, for a mile or more.
Masks are required in Mass Audubon vehicles. Masks indoors are optional.
Mass Audubon Cancellation Policy: If you wish to withdraw less than seven days prior to the program, refunds cannot be issued. If we cancel the program, you will be refunded in full.
