Description
November brings a unique overlap of bird activity to Broadmoor as the last fall migrants are on the move, and the first winter visitors are just arriving.
Walk the sanctuary's wetlands, open meadows, and mixed forest with a naturalist guide, scanning for ducks returning from northern breeding grounds, herons making their way south, and songbirds fueling up on the last caterpillars of the season. Learn to identify species by call and behavior and connect what you're seeing to the larger patterns of migration and habitat that shape bird life across New England. Birders of all experience levels are welcome.

Meet at the visitor center. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear and bring a water bottle. Expect to travel up to a mile over trails with varied terrain. Bring your own binoculars or ask in advance to borrow a pair of ours.
