Now in its 27th year, Wednesday Morning Birding gives birders of all skill levels excellent exposure to the hot spots in one of the most productive birding areas in the country. Each Wednesday throughout the year (except July), we'll travel by Mass Audubon vans and carpooling to focus our field trip on the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Plum Island, the Merrimack River estuary, and other locations around Essex County.
Cape Ann location on one Wednesday per month in WINTER only (November through March) - we'll meet in Gloucester to look at the amazing birds of Cape Ann. The final Cape Ann outing for this winter is March 22, 2023.
Preregistration is not necessary. Please call or email to sign up for program announcements, updates, and birding reports via our Wednesday Morning Birding email list.
Wednesday Morning Birding meets for special winter birding opportunities on Cape Ann once/month, November through March.
Meet at Gloucester Crossing shopping center on Rt. 128 in Gloucester, in the middle of the lot in front of Marshalls. Please wear weather-appropriate clothes and sturdy footwear, and bring binoculars, spotting scopes, and snacks or lunch.
We can't accept credit card payments when we're on Cape Ann, so please plan to pay by cash, check, or Wednesday Morning Birding coupon.
We will reduce our vehicle count by carpooling in Mass Audubon vans and with each other, leaving spare vehicles in the Gloucester Crossing lot. Masks are optional both outdoors and indoors. However, anyone wishing to travel in a Mass Audubon vehicle must wear a mask. Carpooling is encouraged for those who do not wish to travel in a Mass Audubon vehicle.
