No need to face the long lines, parking challenges, and crowds at the beach for this great summertime activity. Join us in the riverside yard at Joppa Flats instead! Learn how to identify wild creatures, design small habitats, participate in small group challenges, and more. Sign up for one or all of these programs and see nature through the lens of a naturalist!

Thursdays: 1:00-3:00 pm

July 8 or 9: The Freshwater Pond Habitat
July 15: The Salt Marsh
July 22 or 23: The Rocky Shore Habitat
August 5 or 6: Insects & Spiders
August 12 or 13: The Sandy Beach Habitat
August 19 or 20: The Rocky Shore Habitat (repeat)

Instructions and Directions:

This is not a drop-off class. All children must be accompanied by at least one adult, and all adults are expected to participate in the program.

Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center, Newburyport. Leaders will provide all field gear and equipment. Dress for the weather; use protection from biting insects. Program details will be forwarded in advance with details about what to expect and what to bring.

Please note our NEW CANCELLATION POLICY: If cancellations are made less than 7 days prior to the program, refunds cannot be issued. Refunds are not given for failure to attend, absence, or sick days. If we must cancel a session, you will receive a full refund.
