Herbs for Healing: Make Your Own Salve

Description

Herbal salves have been used for healing across cultures for thousands of years, and the ingredients to make them are right outside your door. Head outside for a guided walk through the trails to harvest fresh ingredients like mullein and white pine. Then, we'll take our collection indoors, blending herbal-infused olive oil with shea butter and natural beeswax to create a therapeutic salve to take home. A naturalist will share the traditional and modern applications of the plants we find and discuss how crafting natural, plastic-free products can connect personal wellness with sustainability.

Please note that collecting plants outside of our community gardens is not generally permitted. This is a special opportunity for our group to carefully gather some wild plants under the guidance of a naturalist.
