Vernal pools are mysterious temporary bodies of water until you take a closer look. They are homes to frogs, salamanders, and even fairy shrimp.
Learn more about vernal pools before we venture out to investigate one of the vernal pools found at Blue Hills - who will we discover living there? These "wicked big puddles" may be one of the best places to study the relative health of the nature of Massachusetts.

All participants will be required to wear a face mask and abide by social distance guidelines. Registered participants will receive an email regarding specific Covid19 safety protocols and directions to the vernal pool site and parking.
Please wear sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Insect repellent is recommended.
