Do you want to meet an owl? Have you ever wanted to illustrate your own hardbound book? In this program, you can do both! Come celebrate Milton's Art Week with Trailside Museum with this unique community program. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided.

Meet the museum's resident Barn Owl and hear his life story, find out what it's like to be a Barn Owl, and learn about the challenges these birds face in Massachusetts. You'll then build imagery around a short pre-written poem of this owl's life. With guidance from the instructor, you'll use playful collage and mixed media techniques to illustrate a personal book you can share with others.

About the instructor: This program will be led by Karin Sanborn, one of the museum's naturalists. Karin is a scientist, visual artist, and educator. She uses participatory art to help people explore their own connections to the natural world.
