Cape Cod Bird Sightings — Tuesday, July 15, 2025

Cape Cod Weekly Wildlife Sightings is sponsored by the Bird Watchers General Store in Orleans and Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. The following sightings were reported between July 9 and July 15, 2025.

A Brown Booby was again seen at Race Point in Provincetown this week.

Other sightings at Race Point included a Common Murre, a Little Gull, a Glaucous Gull, 2 Arctic Terns, and a Leach’s Storm-Petrel.

Six Swallow-tailed Kites continue near the Cotuit Center for the Arts this week, as well as 2 Mississippi Kites.

Other sightings around the Cape included 3 Blue Grosbeaks in Falmouth, a Sharp-shinned Hawk in Mashpee, a Black Vulture in Cotuit, 3 Yellow-crowned Night-Herons in Barnstable Harbor and one in Eastham, a Black Skimmer in Mashpee, another Black Skimmer and a Little Blue Heron in Chatham, at least one endlessly continuing Chuck-Will’s-widow in Eastham, and 54 Short-billed Dowitchers, 24 Whimbrels, and 7 Saltmarsh Sparrows at Wellfleet Bay sanctuary.
