Cape Cod Bird Sightings — Tuesday, February 3, 2026

Cape Cod Weekly Wildlife Sightings is sponsored by the Bird Watchers General Store in Orleans and Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. The following sightings were reported between January 28 and February 3, 2026.

A male Painted Bunting continues at a feeder in Brewster.

A Northern Shrike continued at Crane WMA in Falmouth, where 2 Fox Sparrows and 13 American Tree Sparrows were also seen.

At Race Point Beach there were 800 Razorbills, 3 Common Murres, and 35 Iceland Gulls.

Birds in Provincetown Harbor included 6 Harlequin Ducks, 55 Greater Scaup, 2 Lesser Scaup, a Thick-billed Murre, a Glaucous Gull, a Ruddy Turnstone, and a Common Raven.

A report from Coast Guard Beach in Eastham included 200 Sanderlings, an American Pipit, and 8 Snow Buntings.

Birds reported from feeders in Orleans include a White-crowned Sparrow, a Rusty Blackbird, and an Orange-crowned Warbler.

Other sightings around the Cape included a Barrow’s Goldeneye at Scusset Beach in Sandwich and 3 more at Loop Beach in Cotuit, a Eurasian Wigeon in Yarmouth Port, 2 Purple Sandpipers at Corporation Beach in Dennis, single Chipping Sparrows at feeding stations several places plus 4 at a feeder in Chatham, a Killdeer in West Dennis, single Chipping Sparrows at feeding stations several places plus 4 at a feeder in Chatham, and a Western Willet and 2 Red Crossbills also in Chatham.
