Family Fun at Wellfleet Bay

Have fun with the whole family at Wellfleet Bay, either on your own or during an organized program.

Nature Play Area

Wellfleet Bay's Nature Play Area invites kids to engage with the natural world around them and to create and problem solve. The area includes a musical fence, a big bird’s nest, a tunnel inside a tree trunk, log balance beams, and steppingstones. In addition, there are fully accessible picnic tables and benches.

Go on a Quest

The length of the Quest is just under a mile and takes approximately 45 minutes. You'll follow the rhyming clues to navigate and learn about this sanctuary's wildlife, habitats, and land use history.

Welcome to the Wellfleet Bay Quest.
We’re pleased to have you as our guest.
This quest is a search that will take you through
our habitats. We’ll send you to
the ponds, the woods, and out to the marsh
to see the creatures that live with us.
Just follow the clues, and keep a sharp eye
for crabs and turtles, and birds flying by.
Now you are ready to get on your way.
Enjoy your adventure at Wellfleet Bay!
