A Message From Our Director

Protect Your Environment Club at Felix Neck

How did Felix Neck get ten percent of the Island’s students together with nonprofit partners, local and regional government, business owners, and scientists? Feed them good food and engage them in great conversations.

Those were key ingredients to bring together today (and tomorrow’s) climate leaders and the Island’s movers and shakers together for our 4th annual Youth Climate Summit last week. Never mind that it was Memorial Day weekend, our community showed up for the kids. Businesses donated delicious, plant-based (and good for the planet) foods, community leaders took time out of their busy schedules to share their knowledge and experiences with students, and the Protect Your Environment Club at the high school and Felix Neck staff and volunteers gave it their all to make it a positive and memorable experience.

And what a day it was – learning, connecting, making plans, looking for solutions, and taking action to protect our Island home and our home planet. It will take more than a day to mitigate the changes coming and find solutions to the climate crises. We invite you to join us and be part of planning for a better world.
