Broadmoor campers canoeing

Campers experience nature and create lifelong memories through guided outdoor explorations, games, hands-on activities, and crafts. They also come to understand their place in nature, as well as the importance of preserving it. Small group sizes ensure that campers stay safe and engaged with role models who are creative, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.

Curiosity Club
Our youngest campers enjoy a taste of camp during this unique half-day program. Campers discover their very own built-in "sensory science tools" and learn observation skills to get the most excitement from nature! We encourage sharing with partners and taking turns.  (Please Note: After Camp is not available for this group.)
2019 Themes: Growing, Growing, Grown! | Wild About Birds | I Like To Move It

Full-Day Camp • Ages 5–14

* denotes two-week camp sessions

Discoverers (ages 5 & 6)
Discoverers refine sensory use and investigate patterns, seasons, animal groups, and cycles. These beginning science concepts build a foundation for a lifetime of learning. We encourage sharing with partners and taking turns.
2019 Themes: Animal Adaptations | Wild About Birds | Nature Recyclers

Naturalists (ages 7 & 8)
Naturalists explore the sanctuary to find out how animals and plants interact in a habitat and through food chains. They investigate the landscape for clues about geology and how humans have used the land through history. Campers also participate in games and activities that introduce cooperation and teamwork.
2019 Themes: Power of Sanctuary | Wild About Birds | Nature Detectives*

Explorers (ages 9 & 10)
Explorers take their investigative skills to the next level, learning how living and non-living things interact in an ecosystem, and how plants and animals have amazing survival adaptations! Campers also participate in games and activities that require cooperation and teamwork, and introduce leadership concepts. Some sessions include a campout on the sanctuary.
2019 Themes: Pollinator Power | Wild About Birds | Wilderness Skills* | Trail Blazers

Voyagers (ages 11–14)
Voyagers venture offsite most days to investigate stretches of the Charles River, ponds, salt marshes, tidal pools, rocky hillsides, or mountain paths. Field trips enhance campers’ understanding of ecology, natural systems, and human impacts on the environment. Campers participate in games and activities that encourage leadership and collaboration. Two-week sessions include an off-site campout in a semi-wilderness setting.
