Sea Change Film: Blue Carbon

Description

Join us for Sea Change, an environmental film program featuring documentary screenings and panel discussions. The film is screened at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater's Julie Harris Stage in Wellfleet.

Blue Carbon explores the relatively newly discovered potential of coastal wetlands to absorb much more carbon from the atmosphere than even tropical rainforests. This "Blue Carbon" as scientists are now calling it, can be found in salt-marshes, sea-grasses and mangroves. This documentary urges us to take stock of nature's true value by listening to and learning from the communities on the front lines of climate change.

Afterwards, a discussion will feature Carole Ridley, Herring River Restoration Project Coordinator, Ridley and Associates, and Sara Grady, Senior Coastal Ecologist, Mass Audubon, who will share ongoing work associated with blue carbon here on Cape Cod.
