Description
Gather around for an evening of campfire stories at Wellfleet Bay and enjoy the setting sun, a glass of wine, sweet and savory s'mores, and storytelling about magical Cape Cod.
Joining us are Ilyssa and Dave Kyu, editors of the newly published "Campfire Stories: Cape Cod Tales & Travel Companion", alongside poet and naturalist Elizabeth Bradfield and writer and historian Mary Bergman. Campfire Stories is an anthology of classic essays, poems, and short stories by past and present Cape-focused writers that explores the region's rich and diverse human and natural histories.
Elizabeth Bradfield and Mary Bergman will read their contributions to this Cape Cod collection, and Ilyssa and Dave will also tell tales about their journey in creating this local guide.
Copies of Campfire Stories: Cape Cod Tales & Travel Companion will be available for sale and signing.
Cost of the program includes sweet and savory s'mores, wine, soda and seltzers. Bring your own camp chair.
This event will be held rain-or-shine. In the event of rain or high winds, we'll move into the exhibit hall and get creative around an imaginative fire!
After the event, extend your evening with an optional twilight stroll along the sanctuary's trails from 8:15-9 pm led by our guest speakers and Mass Audubon staff.
