Owl Prowl

Description

As the last light fades over Wellfleet Bay, the sanctuary shifts into a different register. On this guided dusk walk, an experienced Wellfleet Bay naturalist leads you through the trails at a slow, attentive pace, listening and watching for Great Horned Owls, Eastern Screech-Owls, and other nocturnal wildlife stirring in the December woods.

You'll learn about owl natural history, from their hunting strategies to their communication calls, as your guide brings you to the best spots on the trails. The walk covers less than 1.5 miles, and while sightings are never guaranteed, quiet evenings can carry owl calls across the sanctuary.

Depending on recent sightings, the group may carpool to a nearby location.

Checking registration status.
