In Search of Horseshoe Crabs: Tagging and Research at Wellfleet Bay
Description
Celebrate Horseshoe Crabs!
International Horseshoe Crab Day is coming up, and Wellfleet Bay will be highlighting our native Atlantic Horseshoe Crab, a species that dates back 400-million years but faces serious challenges today from habitat loss and growing pressure from human uses.
Starting with an indoor presentation, we'll learn about their behavior, biology, conservation, and management. We'll then hike out to the flats to search for horseshoe crabs and then participate in horseshoe crab tagging.
