Description
Historians tell us that most of the stone walls for which New England is so famous were built in the early 19th century. If, like many of us, you have ever wondered about the stone walls encountered on your hikes, and you are interested in knowing a more about their origins and the history that may be gleaned from them, join us to explore a few of Wachusett Meadow's remarkable and varied stone walls. This hike will be at an easy pace but will include uneven ground and some off-trail sections.
