Spring Migration Walk at Lincoln Woods

Description

Get to know Lincoln Woods, an oasis of nature in the heart of Leominster, together with your family.

The mature woodlands attract migrating birds looking for a place to rest. Plus, the sanctuary's vernal pools draw amphibians in large numbers in early spring for the mass migration known as Big Night. On this family hike, an experienced naturalist will walks the trails with you, pointing out the pools, the returning birds, and the signs of the turning season. You'll find out how animals thrive in a place like this, and how protecting even a small woodlot in a densely populated area keeps a migration route open.
