Description
With the leaves down and the meadow quiet, January turns Wachusett Meadow into an excellent location to watch wintering flocks of birds.
On this family bird walk , a naturalist leads you through fields and woodland edges to find and identify the birds that stay put through a New England winter. You'll learn how the sanctuary's mix of meadow, shrubland, and forest provides food and shelter until spring and what adaptations help these birds survive even the coldest of days.
