A Nature Year at Wachusett Meadow: Winter Series
Description
Wachusett Meadow winters seem quiet at first glance but take a closer look and you'll see signs of activity all around.
January follows tracks and signs through the snow to work out who is moving where, and why. February turns to winter tree identification, when bark, buds, and silhouettes provide important ID clues. March closes the season with the dazzling courtship flight of the American Woodcock, one of the first signs of spring in New England.
Led by our expert naturalists, each session begins with a brief indoor introduction before spending at least 90 minutes actively exploring the trails and habitats of the sanctuary.
