Description
When the moon goes dark, the night sky opens up and the nighttime sounds of the sanctuary set the stage for an after-hours adventure. On this guided hike, you'll wander Wachusett Meadow's meadows and woods as a naturalist shares the seasonal natural history of what's active after dark. From nocturnal animal adaptations to the shifting sounds of the landscape, the new moon reveals a side of the sanctuary most visitors never experience.
With no moonlight to dull the sky and the absence of nearby lighting, a clear night will offer an excellent opportunity to take in the stars and celestial phenomena.
