Description
Take a woodland walk, peek under old logs and over damp leaf litter, and search for some of the many salamander species that live here in Massachusetts. The Eastern United States has the greatest diversity of salamander species found anywhere in the world, and our plentiful wetlands are home to eleven species of these special amphibians. Learn identification techniques and the habitat requirements of some of our local salamanders and share what we can all do to help conserve these remarkable animals.
Expect a hike up to one-mile over uneven terrain on trails that are likely very muddy.
