Description
As the light fades at Stony Brook, beavers get to work, with evidence of their activity seen throughout the wetlands.
Walk with a naturalist at dusk, searching for chewed stumps, dams, and beaver lodges while learning how a single family of these remarkable engineers can reshape an entire wetland landscape. Along the way, discover how beaver-built wetlands reduce flood risk from stronger storms, support dozens of species, and serve as one of the most compelling examples of how wildlife directly benefits the communities around them.
Sightings are never guaranteed, but beavers grow more active as darkness falls. If we're lucky, we'll spot a busy beaver at work.
