Description
Discover which local birds rely on cavities to build their nests, then step outside to observe nest boxes in the nearby meadow. In this hands-on workshop, you'll build your own nest box to take home and gain a better understanding of the best practices for placing it to attract cavity-nesting birds during the breeding season.
No experience is necessary, and all tools and materials are provided. Nest boxes are suitable for Eastern Bluebirds and other small, cavity-nesting species such as Tree Swallows, House Wrens, Black-capped Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, and White-breasted Nuthatches. This program is almost all indoors except for a very short outdoor walk covering less than 150 feet of distance on an accessible trail.
