Deepen your connection to the season on monthly weekend adventures with a skilled Mass Audubon naturalist and a curious community of adults. This three-part summer series explores local natural history through seasonal highlights like grassland predator-prey dynamics, butterflies and moths, and hawk migration, with topics aligned with what nature provides.
Each session typically begins with an introduction before heading out for extended time in the field. You'll grow your natural history knowledge, sharpen observation skills, and leave with new ways to notice—and care for—the habitats that make the Berkshires special.
July: Grassland Predators and Prey at Canoe Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary
August: Butterflies & Moths at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary
September: Hawk Migration at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary

Expect each session to begin with an introduction and then transition into an outdoor adventure that typically includes at least 90 minutes outside. You'll travel mainly on trails and boardwalks while actively exploring habitats and seasonal highlights, so dress for the weather and plan for time outdoors.
