Description
Enjoy a family hike searching for the sanctuary's iconic beavers and other wildlife that live in and near our natural ponds. Learn about the lives of beavers, their amazing recovery story, and how they continue to shape the landscape more than 85 years after their reintroduction to the area. Look for frogs, fish, salamanders and other wild animals that call the beaver ponds home.
This is a program designed for families with children. Each registration requires at least one adult and one child. This program covers up to 1.5 miles of gravel-paved or unsurfaced trails containing a mix of flat ground, gradual slopes, and one or two hills. The trail surface contains exposed tree roots and rocks. Recent weather could make the trail muddy, wet, or slippery.
Pre-registration is recommended. If the program is not full, a limited number of walk-ins can be accommodated by cash or check in exact change. Credit card payments are available to pre-registrations only.
