Wildlife Tracking for Beginners

Description

Winter reveals animal activity hiding in plain sight; every trail through fresh snow or frozen mud is a record of who has been there and when. The trails at Pleasant Valley wind through forests and open meadows that support a wide variety of wildlife, making for a rich puzzle to piece together.

On this beginner-friendly walk, a naturalist will guide you through reading the tracks, scat, and movement patterns of coyotes, foxes, deer, rabbits, and other animals who share the landscape. You will also hear how trackers put these same skills to work monitoring wildlife populations.

Gain practical tracking skills and a new appreciation for the animal activity happening around you even when wildlife stays out of sight.
