Description
Ponds and wetlands are bustling with small animals, and they're easy to spot when you take a closer look. Families will collect pond samples and observe aquatic insects and other tiny wetland residents up close before returning them to the water. Along the way, you'll learn how wetlands filter water, support wildlife, and connect to the broader health of the landscape.
Expect a curious, kid-friendly pace with plenty of time to look, wonder, and ask questions. This session takes place entirely on Pleasant Valley's All Persons Trail, making it a comfortable, stroller-friendly option for families looking for an accessible evening nature experience.
This program welcomes people of all abilities and will take place exclusively on the Pike's Pond All Persons Trail, covering less than 0.8 miles on a wide, flat, gravel-paved trail. An all-terrain Freedom Chair and Rollator are available to borrow; call ahead to reserve.
