Description
Unwind after the workday with an evening hike around an active beaver pond followed by drinks with fellow nature lovers. Meet at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary for a casual guided hike around an almost 100-year-old beaver pond complex. If conditions are right, we may spot beavers, possibly even baby beavers at this time of year, as they begin their nightly activities. Afterward, drive a short distance to Antimony Brewing to enjoy drinks with the group. Bring a friend or make new ones during this fun and relaxed outing.
This program will cover up to 1.7 miles on an unsurfaced trail that is gently sloping, with one or two steeper hills. The program route may include areas that are lightly flooded in the spring due to beaver activity. Depending on recent weather, the trail surface might be wet or muddy and contain exposed tree roots or rocks.

Instructions
Meet in front of the red barn at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary on the side facing the wide gravel path. Restrooms will be available. Your guide will arrive at the meeting spot 15 minutes before the program begins to welcome any early arrivals.
Dress for the weather and wear shoes that can get wet or muddy. If you typically use trekking poles for hikes on uneven ground, you may wish to bring them on this hike. Bring binoculars if you have them (if beavers are out, our views tend to be more distant). Limited loaner binoculars will be available.
The hiking portion will end at approximately 7:30 p.m. We will drive in our own vehicles to Antimony Brewing, located on 55 Pittsfield Road in Lenox. For information about Antimony, visit antimonybrewing.com. Participants will pay for their own purchases at Antimony. You're welcome to stay at Antimony after the program ends, but the brewery will close at 9:00 p.m.
Your guide will email you the day before your program with trail conditions, weather forecasts, and other updates.
