Home School at Oak Knoll: Field Scientists (Ages 9-12)

Description

This is where homeschool nature learning gets serious, adding authentic conservation research on top of the same rich seasonal curriculum as the younger cohorts.

Students contribute to real scientific data collection for Monarch Watch by tagging Monarch butterflies and raise Headstart turtle hatchlings for the US Fish and Wildlife Service; work that directly supports species conservation efforts at a regional scale.

Three-hour Thursday sessions develop field observation skills, critical thinking, and a genuine sense of scientific agency in students who are old enough to grasp what their contributions actually mean.

Checking registration status.
