A Nature Year at North River - Winter (3 months)

Description

Immerse yourself in a winter of local natural history. With a skilled Mass Audubon naturalist as your guide, experience the cycle of the seasons at North River Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield and gain extensive natural history knowledge-all while receiving the many benefits of spending time outdoors. Each month, you will focus on a special topic, natural community, or seasonal phenomenon. As the temperatures drop, explore the winter night sky, mammals, tracking, and nature in art.

December 12, 6:30-8:30pm: Winter Night Sky

January 9, 10:00-noon: Mammals/Tracking

February 13, 10:00-noon: Art in Nature

Instructions

We will usually start inside with an introduction and then head out for our adventure in the field which will be at least 90 minutes outside. We'll travel mainly on trails and boardwalks, actively exploring and experiencing various habitats and sanctuary spots.
