Destination Birding With a Scone: Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area
Description
In this travel series, we meet at a unique, specified destination, to walk and bird the trails together.
To sweeten the deal, we'll throw in some of Doug's legendary home-baked scones.
Burrage Wildlife Management Area in Hanson and Halifax includes more than 2000 acres of forest, ponds, freshwater marshes and cedar swamps. Formerly the site of an extensive cranberry farm, it offers nesting habitats for sandhill cranes, sora, Virginia and king rails as well as marsh wrens.
