A Nature Year- Fall Series

Description

Immerse yourself in a full year of local natural history. With a skilled Mass Audubon naturalist as your guide, experience the cycle of the seasons at North River Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield and gain extensive natural history knowledge-all while receiving the many benefits of spending time outdoors. Each month, you will focus on a special topic, natural community, or seasonal phenomenon. In autumn, learn about mycology (mushrooms and other fungi), dendrology (trees), and weather. As the temperatures drop, explore the winter night sky, mammals, tracking, and nature in art. During spring, navigate hikes using maps and compasses, and learn to identify wildflowers and other signs of warmer days approaching. Finally, spend the summer delving into the world of insects including fireflies, seeds, and fruit.

Make the most of your relationship with nature-join today.
