Spring Lecture Series: Bird Nests

Description

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs has its application in the world of our feathered friends. Shelter and its benefit of providing safety for raising young are essential for all living things. Bird nest design and construction are as innumerable and unique as their builders. From highly specialized mud-nests of a colony of cliff swallows to the intentional rudimentary nest of the American Robin, nests assure the continuation of future generations. In the final lecture of our Spring Series, we will explore nest site choices, architecture, and assembly, and the importance they play in courtship and bonding, all the while celebrating a metaphor or two.

This registration is for the June Lecture of this series.

Separate registration is required for the paired Field Experience the following day.
