Birding Explorations: Outer Cape

Description

Join the South East region education staff as we bird and explore the outer Cape.

We will make stops at scenic birding spots along the outer cape and spend time at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary- this sanctuary offers over 1,100 acres with 5 miles of trails through saltmarsh, barrier beach and pine woodlands.

This trip includes walks in varying terrains and habitats. Bring a bag lunch, snacks and water. Spotting scopes are welcome.

Please note that this program starts at the North River Sanctuary in Marshfield. Due to the nature of the program we are unable to accommodate meeting or picking up participants once we have departed the sanctuary.

Transportation will be provided from the North River Wildlife Sanctuary, leaving at 7:00 am.

Please note that this program starts at the North River Sanctuary in Marshfield. Due to the nature of the program we are unable to accommodate meeting or picking up participants once we have departed the sanctuary.

The trip includes walks in varying terrains and habitats. Wear Sturdy shoes and dress in weather-appropriate layers. Bring binoculars if you have them or borrow a pair from us.

This is an extended program, pack a bag lunch and bring snacks and water.

Driving North or South on Rt 3:

Take Exit 27 (Rt 139, Marshfield/Pembroke). Turn onto Rt 139 east and go 3 miles to Rt 3A. Turn left (north) and follow Rt 3A for 4.6 miles to sanctuary entrance on right.
