Destination Birding with a Scone: Blue Hills Trailside Museum

Description

In this travel series, we meet at a unique, specified destination, to walk and bird the trails together.

To sweeten the deal, we'll throw in some of Doug's legendary home-baked scones.

Please meet in the parking lot at Mass Audubon's Blue Hills Trailside Museum.

This program will take place entirely outdoors, please wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate layers.

Come prepared for a two-mile walk; accommodations will be made for those who need breaks.

Bring binoculars if you have them (and a scope if you're willing to carry it!). We will have extras to share.

Directions to Blue Hills Trailside Museum

Address: 1904 Canton Ave Milton, MA 02186

Take Rt I-93 to Exit 2B (Milton, Rt 138 North). Follow the exit ramp to the first set of traffic lights. Go straight through the lights and the parking lot is 0.5 miles ahead on the right. The museum is at the end of the parking lot.

By public transportation: Take the MBTA Red Line (Ashmont Line) to Ashmont Station. Connect with Mattapan High Speed Line to Mattapan Square. Take the Mattapan to Canton Center bus route #716 (JBL Busline 781-843-4505). Note: Bus runs Monday through Friday every hour, Saturday every 2 hours until 12 p.m. only, No service on Sundays or holidays.
