Description
Every autumn, millions of hawks stream south along the Atlantic Coast. But identifying hawks soaring across the sky at a distance poses many more challenges than seeing them perched or close-up in photos.
Head over to Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary to learn how to identify the most commonly seen New England raptors in flight.
Discover how hawks exploit thermals and ridge deflection to soar south with minimal effort, why fall migration produces the spectacular swirling groups known as kettles, and when and where to position yourself for the best views. You'll come away with fresh insight into these remarkable raptors as well as practical strategies for finding them on your own.
