Description
One of summer's most magical phenomena transforms into a full evening of celebration at North River Wildlife Sanctuary. Explore the meadows at dusk, watching the fields light up with the synchronized flashes of fireflies during peak season.
Through a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, learn to identify resident species, discover the role these remarkable insects play in the local ecosystem, and find out what you can do to help them thrive.
Drop into self-guided games, nature stations, and demonstrations spread across the sanctuary. Walk around the meadow in search of fireflies with naturalists on hand to answer questions—and be sure to keep your eyes on the sky for stars, planets, and other twilight wildlife along the way. Children 12 and under admitted for free.
