Four Corners Trek: Southwest Trails

Description

The southwest section of Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary opens with the wide fields of Billings Loop before climbing gradually through dense, stonewall-lined forest to the scenic Bluff Overlook.

Halfway up, look for a large cistern—one of the last remnants of a former orchard that once shaped this land. The bluff rewards the gradual climb with a sweeping forest view at the turnaround point of this approximately 90-minute hike.

Moose Hill boasts the longest trail network of any Mass Audubon property, at 20 miles. We'll cover about 3 miles during this program; check out our other Four Corner Treks this fall to explore the full sanctuary and get a complete picture of this special place.
