Four Corners Trek: Southeast Trails

Description

The southeast section of Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary holds some of the oldest terrain on the property, reached by connecting the Hobbs Hill and Kettle, Pine, and Ovenbird trails for a challenging loop along hilly terrain.

Keep your eyes open for signs of a historic dam and seasonal stream, the remains of an old rhododendron garden, and a kettle hole—a hollow left behind by a chunk of melting glacier that shaped this landscape thousands of years ago.

Moose Hill boasts the longest trail network of any Mass Audubon property, at 20 miles. We'll cover about 3 miles during this program; check out our other Four Corner Treks this fall to explore the full sanctuary and get a complete picture of this special place.
