Description
Freshwater wetlands are essential to the health and safety of our communities. Unfortunately, they have been greatly impacted by historic alterations, climate change, pollution and toxins, water withdrawal, invasive species, and more. However, there are many ways we all can help address these impacts to protect wetlands. We'll discuss why and how we can all take actions to help protect wetlands at home, in our communities, and beyond. Learn about a Massachusetts initiative to combat wetland degradation, Mass Audubon’s Campaign to Accelerate Wetland Restoration Across the Commonwealth, and how you can get involved.
This standalone program is part of the 4-session online Freshwater Wetlands 101 Series. Register for the full series before it starts on 10/2/25 to get all 4 sessions (10/2 Massachusetts Wetland Habitats; 10/16 Keystone Wildlife Species; 10/30 Ecological Restoration; 11/13 Protecting Local Wetlands) for the price of 3.
