Description
Discover unique features of plant life on display during the fall. Learn about galls, those curious growths that form on leaves, stems, or other plant tissue, including the insects and mites that create many of them. Uncover the ingenious ways that plants finish out the growing season by producing an abundance and variety of seeds, nuts, and berries, which are dispersed by animals, wind, water, or even explosions. Meet the Oak family, quintessential to the New England landscape, sequestering carbon, depositing rich leaf litter, and hosting over 300 species of caterpillars. Learn which plants can be foraged from the woods, meadows, and even in the grass next to the sidewalk in your local community. This series will enrich your outdoor adventures, providing an overview of the autumn-specific phenomena happening around you.
Each Fall Phenomena session stands alone, but if you register for this full series before it starts on October 7, 2025, you get all 4 sessions listed below for the price of 3.
