Description
A patch of milkweed in summer is a vibrant and busy place. The aroma of its fragrant flowers wafts on the breeze, enticing beetles to climb its stems and monarch caterpillars to chomp on its leaves. However, it might surprise you to learn that milkweed's chemistry is actually toxic. Discover the adaptations that several insect species have developed in order to survive and thrive on this otherwise poisonous plant.
